I love to mow the lawn!

I love mowing the lawn! There’s a sort of Zen quality about it. Then, I grab a cold Yuengling and sit on the deck to relax and enjoy a job well done.

The slope.
The wet spot.
The weird corner by the fence.
The place where the grass grows twice as fast as everywhere else.

Every lawn has that one spot. What’s yours?

The countdown to the last mow is beginning.

Some of us will be mowing well into October. In warmer parts of the country, the mower hardly gets a winter break at all.

But for a lot of us, the number of mowing weekends left in 2026 is getting smaller.

So, how many mows do you think you have left?

We’re about to intermix seasons here shortly in Georgia… It’s Not Over Grass, Leaves, Grass & More Leaves - Then More Leaves 🍃 lol Happpppppppy Mowing Season 2026 🇺🇸🍑🇺🇸

For several months this summer in Georgia was a extreme Drought. To hot to grow or cut. It's over now but I would say middle Georgia cuts grass till Halloween usually. So six more times at least.

At least through October, into November here in SW Ohio.

I cut till end of October most years. My uncles farm every other week and mine and a friends every week till the weather says I’m done in south east Ontario

Probably 4 - 8, usually through October in Southern Colorado

It’s mostly dried up and brown for the third time this Summer in Central Virginia. 😢

Everybody remembers their first mower.

Maybe it was yours. Maybe it was Dad’s. Maybe it had already seen better days by the time you got behind it.

What was your first mower? Bonus points if you still have it.

I've been Lawnboy forever... Never saw a Robins egg blue one. In early sixties those were a Metallic Gold / Brown as I remember.

I have been working on lawn boys for many many years now and this is a first. I can say that I have never seen one of these. Must have just been the area that I was in. Every one I ever worked on was Green.

What kept the motor from getting too hot? I don’t see how there would be enough airflow around the cylinder to keep it from seizing the piston

I had a friend that was a old lawnmower dealer that had two of these new in the box

wow style looks like a outboard beautiful

I love it

I have one of those but it is the gold color

Never saw one. And THATS something.

2-cycle 2-stroke

Nice, I have a brown color one in that model mower

Colton Bastian you are into old machinery, here you go

Lawnboys were so fun and quiet to mow

Two stroke baby

That is gorgeous

Best mower i ever had. Nice job. Is it forsale?

As summer winds down, it can be tempting to start cutting the lawn shorter.

Not so fast.

Your grass may still be actively growing in September. Instead of mowing by the calendar, pay attention to the lawn and adjust as conditions change.

A good rule for any season: avoid removing more than about one-third of the grass blade at a time.

Let the lawn tell you when it’s time to mow.

Saves blades too!

This weekend, try the 5-Minute Rule.

When the mowing is done, don’t rush inside. Grab a cold drink, take a seat and enjoy the view.

You earned it.
